The engineering office of the Municipality of Rotterdam is working on ways to visually design complex projects. This can be done by means of a 3D model that is based on the large amounts of data that the municipality has. This makes it easier for citizens and governments to assess the interventions in the physical living environment and to understand how we can make the city better, more sustainable and more beautiful.
In the film below you can see an example of how the digital twin can be used in participation with the residents of the Claes de Vrieselaan. This shows how the municipality of Rotterdam can work together to make the city better for all residents. How these technological developments will help the work of the municipality is not yet known exactly. The Municipality of Rotterdam therefore works with the Tygron Platform in the Rotterdam innovation center VONK, among other things, and also shares experience with, for example, the Municipality of Amsterdam and the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. The video was made with thanks to Wouter Streefkerk from the municipality of Rotterdam and in collaboration with Ruud Reutelingsperger
