More possibilities for accurately simulating and analyzing water flows, nuisance, and climate adaptation measures in both urban and rural areas.
When: April 21 from 9:30AM – 12:00AM
Location: Amersfoort, the Netherlands
A meeting where water experts can get started with the new features in the Water Module under supervision. The Water Module has been expanded and adapted based on feedback from water boards, hydrologists, and engineering firms. The emphasis is on flexibility, transparency, and computing capacity: for example, building your own dashboards that provide insight into the water balance or incorporating your own groundwater formulas (iterative calculations). These adjustments enable calculations for larger areas and faster model calibration, providing greater insight into the functioning of the hydrological system. The following important innovations will be discussed during the meeting:
- Improved drainage functionality and more extensive documentation.
https://previewsupport.tygron.com/wiki/Drainage_(Water_Overlay) - Support for more input formats, including GeoPackages.
https://previewsupport.tygron.com/wiki/How_to_import_a_GeoPackage_file - Improvements in the workflow for loading, calculating, calibration and scenario analysis.
- Hydrological system overview that provides insight into how the model responds during calculations.
- Faster calculation times thanks to a rewritten water calculation core and new higher-capacity servers.
https://www.tygron.com/en/blog/2025/11/18/nextgen-watermodule/ - Possibility to calculate iteratively, including your own formulas for groundwater, breaches or other process steps.
https://previewsupport.tygron.com/wiki/Iteration_Overlay - Additional settings such as initial infiltration, initial sewer filling and improved limit map functionality.
