Quickstart-training Tygron Water Module

On April 16th, we’re organizing a Quickstart Water event in Amersfoort. During this day, hydrologists and modelers will be introduced to Tygron’s water module and the software’s capabilities for analyzing water and soil systems in area development.

Using your own case study, you’ll learn how to create a Digital Twin that will help you calculate plans and visualize the effects on the water system. This allows you to quickly see what draft designs mean for water storage, runoff, and discharge to downstream areas, and compare options to make better decisions.

The session is intended for hydrologists and other professionals who aren’t yet using the software but want to discover how they can calculate future plans and scenarios—such as extreme rainfall. In half a day, we’ll cover the basics and show you how to create your own scenarios.

Access to the Tygron Platform and Water Module

If you don’t yet have access to the Tygron Platform and Water Module, this Quickstart includes one month of access to the platform, including the water module. This allows you to practice independently and work with your own data and cases during and after the training.

Training Details

Duration: from 10am to 4pm, including lunch.

Tygron Knowledge Level: Beginner

Participants: 8 persons

Target Audience:

  • New users of the Tygron Platform who want to learn how to use the water module.

  • Users without a license: You will receive a one-month trial license so you can practice during the training.

  • Professionals who work with water systems, flood analyses, or hydraulic issues (e.g., water boards, consultancy firms, municipalities).

*Note: This training is aimed at beginners or new users of the water module.

What can you expect?

The Quickstart training offers a mix of theory and hands-on exercises, including:

  • Introduction and background
    • What is the Tygron Water Module and what can you use it for?
    • Insight into what you can research and analyze with water simulations.
  • Practical skills
    • Hands-on work on a water simulation project.
    • Importing and using your own data (e.g., elevation, water level, and precipitation data).
    • Running simulations and interpreting results.
    • Presenting findings and visualizations.
  • Independent work
    • You will learn how to continue working independently with tutorials, documentation, and available resources.
    • Tips for independently developing your water models and running simulations after the training.

Why participate?

The small group size ensures plenty of personal attention and opportunity to ask questions. You’ll learn not only how the Water Module works, but also how to use it to create a Digital Twin that you can use to calculate plans and visualize the effects on the water system.
