3D web app supports Overijssel Environmental Discussion (OOG) with data and analyses

The Province of Overijssel wants to include integral considerations at an early stage in discussions about area development. To this end, it wants to have all relevant data and analyses easily accessible and shareable. It is being explored how digital information can be used intelligently in decision-making; also for generalists and people who are less accustomed to working with data or viewers.

That is why the province of Overijssel has been working on a first version of a user-friendly 3D application in the past period to support the Overijssel OmgevingsGesprek (OOG) for integrated area development. In this application, various perspectives within an area, such as Water and Soil, are made accessible and coherently visible.

An example: when designating smart locations for water storage, soil type, groundwater levels and ground level must be taken into account. At present, this is still being sought in three different sources. OOG combines these layers and directly answers the question: where can the water enter the ground? It has a great deal of added value that such a question can be answered directly, without a specialist having to perform an analysis before the answer is available.

Here is an impression of the web app:

In the course of 2025, the OOG web app will be further developed and applied within the province of Overijssel, including by adding more map layers.

The code behind the web app is a script that communicates directly with the Tygron Platform. This code is open source and published on the Tygron github page:

In this way, such an application is easily available for your organization. You can get started with it yourself, but we are also happy to help you on your way. Want to know more? Contact us.
