GPU computing for Shallow Water Equation

Exciting news for the world of 2D flood modelling! Dutch researchers have confirmed that using GPU computing offers significant advantages for modelling the Shallow Water Equation (SWE), particularly at higher resolutions. With fewer numerical approximations and easier preprocessing of models, this approach allows for faster and more accurate modelling. 

Collaboration between DeltaresDelft University of Technology and Tygron Platform has generated substantial evidence supporting the use of GPU computing for SWE modelling, marking a fundamental change in approach for the next decade.
