Tygron EDU Manual: Best-Practices from Education
Watch the complete recap here:
During last year’s Tygron EDU Event, there appeared to be a need for a handbook for implementing the use of the Tygron Platform in education. We started working with this feedback and that is why we would like to share this new manual with you during the upcoming Event. In this manual the experiences, the learning objectives and the design of training courses in which the Tygron Platform is used are shared. During the Event on April 8, those involved from the educational network and the professional work field will take you through the manual and share experiences. And answer questions like:
- How do I link the use of the software to my learning objectives?
- How many hours do I have to schedule for the assignment?
- What is a realistic end product to ask the student?
- How does the use of the software fit within an internship and / or graduation assignment?
- How is the knowledge transferred to the student with regard to the use of the software?
- What background do students need to be able to work with the software?
- How can I add depth to a graduation assignment by using the Tygron Platform?
14:15 – 15: 00 Presentation The new Tygron EDU Manual by Katia Zahwi (Tygron) Katia presents the new Tygron EDU Manual. What need is met with this manual? She talks about the featured use cases with the different learning objectives and the target students. She also shows where to find this manual so that you can start using the template yourself and integrate the use of the Tygron Platform in your own curriculum.
15:00 – 15:20 Presentation Group assignment Urban water management by Mike Schampers and Aukje Verheijen (Hogeschool Van Hall Larensteijn) and by Willemijn Rossen (waterschap Zuiderzeeland) The students present their use case, the results of the project and indicate what motivates them to achieve a good result. In addition, Willemijn explains why she is involved in this assignment as a client? What’s in it for them? Why do you invest time and effort on an assignment like this?
15:20 – 15:40 Presentation Example of an internship assignment by Reijn van Rooijen (Wageningen Universiteit) and by Ward van Laatum (Aveco de Bondt) Reijn talks about the assignment he carried out for Ward during his internship, the project Biodiversiteit. How did he take the use of the Tygron Platform to the next level in this assignment? Ward explains what the added value is for him to involve an intern in this assignment? And why are there so many interns at Aveco de Bondt who work with the Tygron Platform?
15:40 – 15:50 Short break
15:50 – 16:10 Presentation Work independently with the Tygron Platform by Josep Pueyo (Catalan Instituut for Water Research) Josep talks about how he got started with the software himself. How did he start working on the use of the Tygron Platform? What materials have helped him? Of course he also shows his use case, Edible City Solutions.
There will be plenty of room in the set-up for questions, discussion and reflection. There is also room to ask all your questions in advance by indicating them on the registration form. We will take these questions along with the speakers in the presentations in order to provide the best possible answers.
