Tygron dares students to make a 3d project on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals!

Students interested in 3D-technology, urban planning and gaming are invited to join the Tygron Student Contest 2019. The contest runs from March to May. Specific details will follow. 1st place will be awarded a price of €1.500,-! Second and third place will be awarded €500,- and €250,- respectively. Show your ambition to provide a more sustainable future for all. Show this ambition to Tygron, your school and your friends!

We at Tygron are looking for ambitious students who want to explore our technology. In 2014 we had our first student contest. Now, four years later, we have developed our platform further with new functionalities and improved tutorials! We are curious to see what you can accomplish with the Tygron Platform!

We invite you to make use of the EDU-license. Be sure to check with your faculty if they have one. If your educational faculty doesn’t have one yet you could ask a professor to sign our agreement. If this isn’t an option you can sign up for a free-student license. Details for how to do this will follow.

The Tygron Geodesign Platform is multifunctional software, designed to provide insight into a range of geographical issues and their correlation with other topics (energy, water, traffic, air quality, etc.) in a fast and accurate manner.

The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, and peace and justice. Create a project with your own relevant data and indicators on one of the Sutainable Development Goals. How do these goals correlate to your study? More information about these goals can be found on the UN’s website: https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/

If your subject isn’t part of one of the goals mentioned, elaborate how this subject contributes to a better and more sustainable future for all.

Your project will be judged on the following criteria:

  •  Clear objective
  •  Involvement of end-users
  •  Use of data
  •  Use of indicators
  •  Complete description of the project, progress and evaluation
  •  Commitment to your educational institution

The winners will be announced in June 2019 by our dedicated jury of experts!

You can participate in the contest in a team or on your own, that’s up to you.
